Still snowing up north....! End to End update.
Despite some nasty conditions, Will and myself braved the snow and ice of the Pennines to do some route finding for the forthcomimg Lands End to John 'o' Groats tour. I only hope that the lanes won't be as treacherous as they were on Wednesday. The snow and ice covering the very high ground was still very extreme with several feet still lying on Cross Fell and the surrounding hills. The lanes we traversed in the name of organisation were surely beyond the call of duty but also a lot of good fun. I perhaps wouldn't be saying that if I'd fallen off on one of the many glaciers that have formed across the minor roads that I have carefully selected for our End to End adventure. If you are one of the riders doing the May ride, I suggest you put your 27 sprocket somwhere easy to access. If you haven't signed up yet and are still interested in doing what I consider to be the ultimate UK cycle challenge, you should get in touch with Will now and see if he can fit you in. It promises to be a good one. CR
