Cap Formentor, Mallorca

This spectacularly located cafe sits on the peninsula of land that sticks out 12 miles from Porto Pollensa. It perches high above the cliffs and below the lighthouse which tantalises you all the way along the twisty and windy road that rises and plunges to the sea several times on the way. There is even a part of the road that appears to be downhill each direction which just about makes up for the death defying unlit tunnel. If you can cope with the exhaust fumes from the hoards of tourist buses that clog the road and you have low enough gears for some parts of the ascent it is well worth the ride. Although be warned make sure you`re wallet is packed with Euros as the cake at the end of the road is pretty pricey, but good and really your paying for the spectacular view. And i can say i made it here which is more than Peanut can perhaps as well with the price of the cake as he would probably have had apoplexy!

Well worth the ride for the view and a good way to start any Mallorca trip. Oh and be warned your bound to meet some fellow Cheshire cyclist as the place was full of them the day i went.
