June 10th, CDNW road race, Bole Hill. Kent Valley RC 25 mileTT.
Round seven of the Cycling Development North West league was held on Sunday on the notorious Bole Hill circuit. With the race covering 56 miles for the E/1/2/3 and 50 miles for the 3/4 cats, this was not a day for flat earthers and sprinters alike.
The elite race was dominated by Kit Gilham who was the winner of the recent Cheshire 2 day race. Attacking from the gun, neither Mark Lovatt or our own James Williamson could get anywhere close to catching him. Jim had to settle for 4th place at the finish whilst our other rider, Mark Burton finished a little off the pace in 16th place, 1 place outside the points.
In the 3/4 race Manu Guitton came 4th with Dave Genders in 18th place. Simon Hayes and William Hawtin finished in 23rd and 27th. A good ride by Manu who is begining to amass a few points this season.
